The Edwardsville Children’s Museum offers many field trip and outreach programs than can be utilized by the home schooling community to support their classroom curriculum.  Our educators are available to bring our programs to your group, or you can bring your group to ECM.

Field Trips

Edwardsville Children's Museum is a hands-­on learning environment where children and adults interact and explore in a FUN and educational environment.
Ages: Children 18 months to 12 years
Group Size: (children + adults)
  •  Minimum - 10
  •  Maximum - 100
  •  Exploration field trip - $6/Child, $6/Adult, Teachers/Aides FREE
  •  Workshop field trip - $8/Child, $8/Adult, Teachers/Aides FREE

Field trips are scheduled for 2 hours.
**Multiple schools can have field trips in the building at the same time.**
Making a reservation: Determine the number attending, including children and adults, possible dates and times, then call us for availability.
Please schedule workshop field trips at least 4 weeks in advance.
Payment: We accept cash, check, Master Card or Visa; payment is due at the the time of field trip.
*A non-refundable $20 deposit may be required.
Chaperones: 1 supervising adult (18+) for every 7 children is recommended.

We offer a limited number of field trip scholarships each school year.  These scholarships are awarded based on free and reduced lunch numbers of the schools applying.


All 2019-2020 field trip scholarships have been awarded.  The application period will reopen on September 1, 2020 for scholarship applications for the 2020-2021 school year.

Your students will visit the museum once a week for four weeks for a hands-on learning activity and museum exploration. This experience will be tailored to your classroom needs and fit in with what your students are learning in your classroom now!

Get your students engaged in reading through this special program featuring stories, hands-on activities, and a visit from the Hungry Caterpillar himself!

Outreach Programs

With our outreach programs, we bring the museum experience to you! No need to worry about transportation for your students! Sit back and watch the unique exploration unfold in your very own classroom! Our educators are certified K-12 teachers and all of our programming is aligned to state standards. (See age range specific programs below.)
Our Outreach Programs are priced per class and are intended to provide your students with an engaging, joyful learning experience. Designed to make learning come alive for students, our immersive and cross-curricular programming will spike your students' curiosity and provide them with a meaningful learning experience!
Pricing is per class.
$200 for the first 45 minute session (per class), $40 per each additional 45 minute sessions (per class) booked for the same day.
